Robert (Bob) Newton Anderson, 82 of Fresno, CA passed away peacefully at home on November 23, 2024 surrounded by his wife and extended family.

Bob was born to William and Leone Anderson on November 23, 1942 in Tolleson, Arizona. Bob is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Vicki Anderson, and his three children (with his first wife, Kathy Stroud) daughter Letitia (Sergio) Guzman and sons Stacy and Chad Anderson, two grand children, Jennifer Wills (Billy) and Jonathon Schoolcraft and 9 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, sister Patsy Lusk and brother Henry Anderson.

Bob moved to Plains, Texas at a young age where he played football and tennis in school. Bob was always a hard worker; at age 14, he left home and worked the wheat harvest for two years. Upon returning home following the harvest, he learned his family had moved to California. Bob then moved to San Jose, California where he completed his education and worked briefly as a machinist before getting into the automobile business with Valley Ford where he worked in sales and finance. Bob moved to Fresno to work for Valley Ford when they purchased a local dealership. In the mid-60's, Bob set up car rental agencies on Naval Bases on behalf of Valley Ford. This venture was well received as many sailors were too young to rent a car off-base. In 1976, Bob purchased the Chrysler dealership where he advertised that he had the "sharpest pencil in town". Bob's automobile career lasted over 40 years and he held General Sales Manager and General Manager positions with multiple dealerships including Fresno Dodge, Courtesy Chrysler Plymouth, Gardner Porsche & Audi, and spent over 20 years with Razzari dealerships in Merced and Visalia.

During his working career, Bob worked 6-days a week. However, he loved family time, time at the Shaver Lake cabin, week-end golfing and annual trips to Kauai. He enjoyed horseback riding and owned a horse for a while. Following his retirement, Bob especially enjoyed spending more time with family, increased travel, more golf, restoring a Cadillac convertible, watching John Wayne westerns and his new hobby of photography.

During the past couple of years, Bob lived with the impact of progressing dementia symptoms. In spite of this, Bob enjoyed life and was loving and happy. He enjoyed his new-found friends at the OASIS Adult Day program which he attended five-days a week. He considered this his "work" which gave him a new found purpose in life. During this period, Bob enjoyed his music; especially music from the 50s, the Grand Ole Opry and dancing.

Bob was a devoted husband and a good Christian man who lived a good life and was generous to others. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
