Beloved husband and father Robert E. "Bob" Myers passed away in Fresno, California, on April 10, 2025, at the age of 98. He was born on March 20, 1927, in Hawthorne, California, to Orin and Stella Russell Myers. Bob spent his childhood in El Segundo, California, enjoying life as a "beach kid."

During his junior year of high school, his family relocated to Fresno, where he graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1944. Shortly after graduation, he followed his older brother, Orin Jr., in enlisting in the Merchant Marines.

After the war, Bob returned to Fresno and enrolled at Fresno State Normal School (now California State University, Fresno). It was there that he met his future wife, Barbara Jean Bennett. They married in 1951 and celebrated 70 years of marriage in 2021.

Bob had a successful career at PDM Steel Company, where he retired in 1991 as manager of the Fresno steel service center.

Bob and Barbara were dedicated lifelong supporters of the Fresno State Bulldogs. They were leaders in both the Bulldog Foundation and the Bulldog Women's Foundation and played instrumental roles in the fundraising efforts for the construction of Bulldog Stadium.

Satisfied as Bob was with his work, marriage, and service, he recognized that his greatest life achievement was accepting Jesus as his Lord in 1976, and he considered it an honor to give the invocation for the opening of Bulldog Stadium in 1980.

Bob was actively involved in the Christian Business Mens Connection, and he led many men to faith and discipled numerous others. He was also a member of the Downtown Rotary Club and the Greater Fresno Optimist Club.

Bob Myers was preceded in death by his parents, his siblings Orin Myers Jr. and Marion Giraudo, and one infant great-grandson. He is survived by his beloved wife of 73 years, Barbara, his daughter Laura Jones (Greg), his sons Bob (Debbie) and Dan (Brenda), six grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at Belmont Memorial Park, 201 N Teilman Ave., Fresno 93706 on Tuesday, April 29, at 11:00 am. Funeral arrangements are being provided by Farewell Funeral Service, Fresno.
