Robert Eugene
Wiens
May 25, 1941 — Oct 3, 2024
Fresno
Robert Eugene Wiens, known as "Bob" and affectionately called "Butch" in his early years, passed away peacefully on October 3, 2024. He was born in Reedley, California on May 25, 1941, to Arnold and Hilda Wiens.
Bob was married to three wonderful women, all of whom predeceased him: his first wife, Judith Ann Richert, his second wife, Sharon Ann Kralovetz, and his third wife, Mary Elizabeth Lynch.
For 32 years, Bob served as a dedicated Fresno County Probation Officer. Outside of work, he had a passion for cars and was an active member of the Mid-Cal Racing Club, where he raced his beloved Datsun 1600. Bob spent many summer days at Millerton Lake, piloting his boat and towing skiers, creating lifelong memories for friends and family. Family reunions at the Wiens Ranch on the Fourth of July were another cherished tradition.
Bob led a full and active life. He participated in a century bike ride, tinkered with and built computers, coached softball, and attended countless football games. He was also involved in his community, being a member of the Exchange Club and the SIR (Sons in Retirement) golfing group.
He is survived by his four children: Cynthia Wiens, Cathleen Wiens, Victoria (Bryce) Hatch, and Robert J (Casey) Wiens, and was blessed with nine grandchildren: Alexander, Kaity, Jason C., Bryce P., Benjamin, Brody, Bonnie, Avery, and Emily, and two great-grandchildren, Alex and Jason R. Bob is also survived by his siblings: Patricia Howard, Leonard Wiens, and Caroline Morrison.
Bob's legacy lives on in the hearts of his family and friends, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
