Rosa Avila Aguilar was born in Ario de Rosales, Michoacán, Mexico on April 28, 1944, and passed away peacefully on March 28, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Margarito Avila and Natividad Orozco, and by her  husband, Anastacio Aguilar.

Mom is survived by her children: Armando Aguilar and his wife MariaElena; Josefina Rosales and her husband Rudy; Martin Aguilar; Rosa Bertha Mendoza and her husband Joe; Jorge Aguilar; Robert Aguilar and his wife Elvia; Carlos Aguilar and his wife Tina; and Tony Avila and his wife Maribel.

She was also blessed with 16 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren, all of whom loved her dearly and will miss her deeply. Everyone has their own special name for her, she was known as "Ama, Mom, Madrecita, Challo, Rosario, and Taqui".   Our family was fortunate to have her living close by, which allowed her children and grandchildren to visit often and share countless special moments together.

Mom loved adventure, whether it was taking a spur-of-the-moment trip out of town or simply going on a shopping outing. She had a wonderful sense of style and was quite the "fashionista," always searching for the perfect accessory to match her outfit.

She was also an incredibly hardworking woman who put her remarkable cooking talents to good use. Her oldest granddaughter, Rosemary, fondly remembers going out with Grandma to sell her delicious handmade flour tortilla burritos to farm laborers. This small beginning reflected her entrepreneurial spirit, which later grew into her well-known tamale business. Her tamales were loved by many and were especially in high demand during the holiday season. Her delicious home made chile verde, rice, beans and flour tortillas were also a special family treat.

One of Mom's favorite pastimes was caring for her plants and flowers. She found great joy in nurturing them and watching them grow. With so many plants to care for, she would sometimes have to sneak in her daily "allotted" water usage while her son Armando wasn't looking — especially when he was out of town.

Mom's strong faith in God was an important part of her life. From an early age, she helped lay a spiritual foundation for all of her children. She would often gather her "pollitos" together to pray, asking God for guidance, protection, and blessings over her family.

There are countless stories and memories that will continue to be shared among her friends, children, and grandchildren. Though we mourn her loss, we also celebrate the beautiful life she lived and the many ways she touched the hearts of those around her.

Rest in peace, dear Mom and Grandma. You will forever remain in our hearts.
