Obituary

Sandra "Sandy" Inez Amador

Born in Fresno, California, on June 8, 1951, Sandy entered the gates of Heaven on October 8, 2023. She was the first-born child of Doyle and Gladys Robison and stayed close to the Easton area her entire life. After graduating from Washington Union High School, she attended business college and worked at Central California Blood Bank and Caruthers Cooperative Gin. In 1974 she met and fell in love with Ernie Amador, and they married in 1976. Soon they began their family, welcoming daughter Staci and son Daryl. Sandy was a lifelong homemaker, raising first her children and then actively helping to raise her grandchildren. Affectionately known as "Meemaw" to her grandchildren, she was particularly fond of rocking the babies. Sandy was a loyal wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.

Sandy showed exceptional strength and resolve during the past few years of her life in her hard-fought battle with cancer. She continued to keep everyone in line and never lost her sweet tooth.

She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Ernie, daughter Staci Pestorich and her husband John, son Daryl Amador and his wife Michelle, seven grandchildren, sister Donna Welker, and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

A graveside service will be held on November 3, 2023, at 11:00 a.m., at Washington Colony Cemetery, 7318 South Elm Avenue, Fresno, California.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Sandy's name may be made to Valley Children's Healthcare Foundation, 9300 Valley Children's Place M/S PC17, Madera, California 93636.
