Scott Thomas Beckwith, 44, of Fresno, California, passed away on June 29, 2025, in his hometown.

Born on July 8, 1980, in Fresno, Scott was a kind soul with a deep love for music, animals, and the people around him. A lifelong fan of the Grateful Dead, Scott found joy in playing guitar and sharing music with friends and strangers alike—though to Scott, no one was ever truly a stranger.

He had a passion for traveling, always eager to explore new places and meet new people. Whether it was a road trip or an adventure across the country, Scott embraced every journey with curiosity and openness.

Scott is survived by his loving parents, Mike and Carla Beckwith; his sister, Natalie Gomes, and her husband, Edward; his beloved niece, Eliana Gomes; and his dear Aunt Betty. Survived by his uncles and aunts, Larry and Ann Beckwith, Pat and Sharon Beckwith, Brent Beckwith, and Stanley Bauer. His gentle spirit, quick smile, and generous heart touched many lives. He was especially passionate about rescuing and caring for animals, giving countless pets a second chance at life and love.

A memorial service celebrating Scott's life will be held at Peace Lutheran Church on Wednesday, July 9th at 11:30 a.m.

Scotty will be missed by many; he was such a special human with such a great heart. Your light shone so brightly, at times it was almost too intense for this world to hold. May your brightness pierce through the clouds on a gray day, creating a rainbow that reminds us of your colorful soul.
