Obituary

Siegfried Riedelsheimer was born on August 12, 1934 in Munich, Germany and passed away at the age of 90 on August 21, 2024.

In 1957, Siegfried married Renate and soon they left Germany for Switzerland and later on to Canada, where Siegfried worked as a mechanic on European cars.  At the same time they started a family.

After a while, they immigrated to the United States to begin working at an auto repair shop in California.

In 1972, he started his own European Auto Repair shop called Siegfried's Motors in Fresno, which has become a successful family business and is now run by his son.

Siegfried's greatest passion was flying airplanes and over the years he owned several Cessnas which he flew throughout California and other states.

Throughout his life, he had many other interests including working outdoors, playing chess brilliantly and, in recent years, taking care of his beloved dachshund Purzel who he spent many happy hours with.

Siegfried is survived by his son Helmut, his daughters Heidi and Andrea as well as six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

In the Lord's Kingdom, he now is reunited with Renate, his wife of 59 years, his daughter Monika and his great-granddaughter Justine.

Siegfried was a fine father and grandfather, a loving husband as well as hard-working, loyal and humble – simply put: a great man who will be missed dearly by everyone who knew him.

There will be a graveside service at Sanger Cemetery on Wednesday, August 28th, 2024 at 10am.
