Our mother Stella Isabelle Mares was born on June 29th , 1939 and was called home to our Heavenly Father on August 25th, 2023.

She is proceeded in death by her parents Joe and Bertha Soto, grandchildren twins Anthony and Angela Mares, and her eldest son Alfred G. Mares Jr. She is survived by her sons Joseph Mares Sr. and fiancé Marcela Garcia of Fowler,  Erik Mares Sr. and wife Angela Mares of Selma,  Daughter in law Olivia Mares of Selma, Sister Margaret and husband Arnold Bustamante of Reno, NV.  Her 8 grandchildren Steven and wife Davina, Nicholas, Anissa, Mia, Gabrielle, Joseph Jr., Erik Jr., and Jiana Mares.  Extended grandchildren Javier and Julian Fonseca, Alexis and Angelica Morfin. Her 3 great grandchildren Jedidiah, Steven Jr., and Alex Mares.

Our family would like to thank Davita Dialysis,  their staff and patients for their love and support.  Doctors Joseph Duflot, Intisab Sultan, Usman Javed, and staff for all of their treatment and care.

We would also like to thank Hinds Hospice for their loving care towards our mother during her final days.

Visitation for Stella Mares will be September 13th, at Page Farewell Funeral home from 4p.m to 7p.m with Rosary starting at 6 p.m. Mass will Be held September 14th, 2023, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church at 9 a.m. Procession to burial will follow after church services.

Reception will immediately follow at the Selma Portuguese Hall.
