Thomas Paul
Valentino
Jun 3, 1963 — Jul 4, 2023
Fresno
Thomas Paul Valentino passed away unexpectedly on July 4, 2023 at his home in Fresno. The family is deeply saddened and shocked by this sudden loss. Tom had just celebrated his 60th birthday June 3.
Tom is survived by his father and stepmother, Judge Peter Joseph and Jan Yanda Valentino, his brother Peter, sister Gigi Balderama and brother-in-law, Larry, and sister Connie Parker and husband, David.
He also leaves behind his precious granddaughter, Mia, whom he adored and her mother, Haley Hamilton. His memory lives on with his nieces and nephew, Megan Crisp (Drew) and Presley (5), Sarah Valentino and James (4), and Mike Stoeckle (Twyla) and Turner (5) and Scottie (3).
Tom will be forever missed by his loving companion Charlotte Bien, her daughter, Jamie, and son, Nick.
He will be fondly remembered by his best friend and golfing buddy, Carlos Gonzales, his wife, Marcie, and their children, Camryn, Gigi and Colin (Godson). Tom was preceded in death by his beloved son, Joseph Valentino (2018) and his mother, Virginia Ann Valentino (2021).
Born in Chicago, IL, Tom enjoyed playing baseball as a child before moving with his family to Fresno in 1975 where he continued to participate in sports. He was graduated from Hoover High school with the class of 1981 and was graduated from CSUF with a degree in Business. Tom had a successful career in finance with various lending companies, but always kept in touch with and dearly loved his lifelong high school friends. Also, Tom enjoyed the many friendships he had made as a member of Rotary Club of Clovis.
Tom lived his life with honesty and integrity, and his strong values led him to take advantage of opportunities to help others. For example, he supported Catholic Youth Ministries, helped families obtain mortgage loans who would not otherwise have qualified through normal bank channels, and was a member of the McLane High School Business Academy Advisory Board. Additionally, he helped raise funds for the poor through his parish church, Rotary, and community events. He consistently radiated positive energy that attracted many friends. Always proud of his Italian roots, Tom loved entertaining family and friends at his home.
A Recitation of the Rosary will be held July 26, 2023 at 9:30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 355 E Champlain Dr, Fresno, CA. Tom's final resting place will be in the Anne E Young Cemetery in Pikeville, KY next to his beloved son Joe.
Remembrances may be made to Rotary Club of Clovis, Catholic Charities, or donor's favorite charity.
