Our beloved mother and grandmother, Viola Garcia, died on August 10th, 2024 at the age of 73 after a nine month battle with cancer.

Viola was born December 2nd, 1950 in La Feria, Tx to parents Faustina Gonzalez of Mexico and Octavio Salazar of Texas. Viola married her childhood friend, Eliseo "Lee" Garcia on December 7th, 1968 in Fresno, CA.

She is preceded in death by her husband.

She is survived by her brother, Hernan Martinez of Mexico; sister, Guadalupe Salazar of Fresno; sons, Lee and Gene of Fresno; daughter, Tina Overstreet and her husband Dave of Clovis; and grandchildren Calee, Trystan, Payton, Connor, David, and Ellie.

Viola attended Roosevelt High School and received her GED from Tehachapi Adult School in the early 1990's. She was a homemaker for 47 years spending her days catering to her husband, children and then grandchildren. Her prized possession was her family. She loved to cook for and care for each one of them. She loved them each individually and unconditionally.

She will live on in our hearts and rest in peace with our Lord Jesus Christ.
