Walter "Walt" D. Harris, age 83, of Sanger, CA passed peacefully Sunday, January 19, 2025.

He was a graduate of Sanger High School in 1959 and received his BS in Structural Engineering from the University of Florida in 1964.  Walt was a member of the Sigma Chi Fraternity, an active member of Rotary and on numerous boards.  Walt served in the Air National Guard until 1969.  After graduation from college, Walt started working for the family business at Harris Construction Co. which was founded by his grandfather in 1914.  Walt's talents were many.  In his younger years he was an avid water and snow skier, loved racing horses, cars, also loved getting speeding tickets, LOL.  Walt was also quite a prankster.  He loved to get a good laugh out of people.  Walt collected many Native American artifacts and jewelry on his trips as well and local panting and antiques.  Preceded in death by his parents W. Clarence and Caroline Harris.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Harris; brother and sister-in-law, Brent and Karen Harris; daughter, Caroline Harris; son, Vance Harris; grandsons, Wyatt and Carson Harris; nephews, Doug Harris; Ryan Harris and friends.  Family, friends and others whose lives Walt touched are invited to a Celebration of Life at Sunnyside Country Club, 5704 East Butler Avenue, Fresno, CA 93727, from 12p.m.-4p.m. on Friday, May 30, 2025.
