William E. Myers

Bill was born January 4, 1935 in Baltimore Maryland to Roberta Laudeman Myers and Jacob (Jack) Ross Myers, Jr.  He graduated from the Gillman School in Baltimore where he played varsity football and lacrosse.  He was a debate team member as well as glee club, and the infamous Traveling Men.

Bill graduated from Dartmouth College and the Tuck Business School with a Master Degree of Business Administration in 1959.  He graduated from the Ft. Sill School of Artillery and Missiles and was honorably discharged as a 1st Lieutenant.

Bill was the ultimate entrepreneur.  He founded Myers Management a market research firm and the Myers Corporation, a housing development company.  He was one of the original founders of Air California in 1966 that was sold to American Airlines in 1986.  He also started Cable Commuter Airlines which served 13 airports in southern California and sold it to L.A. Airways.  Myers Building Industries where he built shopping centers and auto dealerships for 25 years.  He retired in 1995 to play golf and enjoy his family.

In 2005 Bill and his wife Caren moved to Fresno.  Bill activated the SCORE chapter serving small business entrepreneurs in our valley.  He retired as chairman in 2009 and he spent time with the Entrepreneur program at Fresno State and served as a mentor.

Bill has two sons and a daughter, William E. Myers Jr. of Pasadena, Dia Lubratich of Clovis and John Myers of San Diego.  He has three nephews Jay, Rob and Henry Myers.  His children gave him eight grandchildren and he loved them all.  His wife Caren was the love of his life for 41 years. They are members of San Joaquin Country Club and The Well Community Church.

Bill was a strong believer in the truth of the Bible and Jesus Christ. He loved God, his family and his country.
