Yvonne Jean Imperatrice (Bonnie), 86 of Fresno, went home to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on August 30th after sudden illness and complications. She was born on February 14,1938 in South Dakota, to Arnold and Beulah Knutson.

Bonnie graduated from Roosevelt High. She met Darrell through his younger brother, Laurence, who was dating a friend of hers. After a short courtship, she married the love of her life! Bonnie then got to work helping Darrell finish college to become a teacher. They moved to Chowchilla, where Darrell got a teaching position. Bonnie also started a new job at Minturn Cotton Gin. They cherished those first two years in that little town. Two years later, they moved back to Fresno, where they had two wonderful children, Mark and Lisa. They built their first home in Tarpey Village with the help of her father Arnold, where they shared many family gatherings. During those years Bonnie began to work for the IRS in a training position, where she excelled at her job, and became Supervisor. She retired after 25 years of service. During those early summers, Bonnie, Darrell, and the kids would caravan up and down the coast with many of their friends in their campers. After 25 years in their Tarpey home, they had another home built in 1986, at their present location, where Bonnie and Darrell then set out to make it into their beautiful home, and gardens. It was truly a labor of love for them both! They enjoyed hosting many more family gatherings and events, including a wedding, whodunnit mystery dinner, and River Park Trust fund raiser dinner, creating many fond memories for all. Bonnie enjoyed doing many things: making pottery with her own turntable and kiln, watercolor and oil painting, and especially making her beautiful stained glass pieces in her studio/ garage that hang in her home and garden today. She also loved collecting antiques in the form of clocks, furniture, books, and knick knacks for the yard. She was an avid reader of mysteries and drama, she also loved working on puzzles, especially with the family. She enjoyed going to lectures at Fresno State with friends. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She and Darrell saw that Mark and Lisa graduated from college, with an engineering and dental degree, respectively, and she was very influential, and proud of her four grandchildren Dylan Imperatrice, Madison Imperatrice, Anthony Cannatella and Katherine Canntatella - all graduating from college.

She is preceded by her husband Darrell, and parents Arnold and Beulah.

She is survived by her children Mark and wife Yoli, Lisa and husband Steve, brother Larry Knutson and wife Mary Lou, grandchildren Dylan and wife Jodi, Madison, Anthony, and Katherine and boyfriend Alex.

Services will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church 3973 N Cedar Ave., Fresno on September 19th at 2pm.

Burial on September 20th at 11am at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery in Santa Nella.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to the church.
