Yvonne S.
Tucker
Aug 6, 1931 — Jun 24, 2024
Kingsburg
Yvonne Sheba Tucker (nee Masson), 92, passed away in her sleep on June 24, 2024 in Fresno CA. Born in Rangoon, Burma on August 6, 1931 to John and Connie Masson, Yvonne (known as "Eve" to her husband, Joe Tucker, and close friends), survived a traumatic childhood experience as result of WWII horrors in Burma. This event molded her life. She often said she was living her life for her family who had perished.
Yvonne met Joe in Calcutta, India, and married in 1953, beginning their lives' adventures together. Her tenacious spirit served her well as she and Joe emigrated from India to England to Canada and finally to the United States. Along the way they had three children: Luanne and Alan born in London, Cheryl in Toronto.
Yvonne was a devout wife and mother who stayed home with her children and supported Joe's career and hobbies. She enjoyed working part time as a medical receptionist and hobbies included needle crafts, bowling and gardening. Although she often said she "hated to cook", her family and friends enjoyed her many ethnic dishes; her recipes are cherished and repeated by her children and grandchildren.
Yvonne and Joe were excellent ballroom dancers and world travelers, especially enjoying cruises. In her later years, Yvonne was a voracious reader, cared for her house plants and continued Joe's daily devotion for saying the rosary. Purple was her favorite color as noted by her many clothes in that shade and her love of tulips was displayed in her household decor. She will be remembered for her love of family and gathering them all close to her for holidays and special events.
She survived by her children, Luanne (Daniel) Doyland, Alan (Shelby) Tucker, Cheryl (Greg) Villaret; grandchildren Erin (Randy) Daniel, Carrie (Ryan) Yetter, Jay and Alison Tucker, Coty (Jonathan) Marquez; Aimee and Dustin Villaret and great grandchildren, Emily Albright, Harper, Myles, and Haven Yetter.
Yvonne was greeted in heaven by her husband, Joseph Tucker, her parents, siblings: Philip, Olive, Lottie, Trixie, and Allan Masson, niece Lisa Jensen, and grandson in law Jason Albright.
The family would like to thank the following caregivers who cared for our mom full time in her home the last 3 1/2 years: Agatha Dominguez, Nelda Legaretta, Bea Castro, Eloise Richard, Felicia Lopez, Elia Perez, Maria Del Carmen Perez Ramirez, Jean Reed, Belinda Garcia, Janice Pennington, Christen Lara, the staff of Saint Mary's Hospice and Cedarbrook Memory Care, Fresno, CA.
Recitation of the rosary will be held at Farewell-Page Funeral Chapel 2014 Arrants Street Selma CA 93662 at 6:00pm on Thursday July 11, 2024. Funeral mass will be held at Saint Joseph Catholic Church 2441 Dockery Avenue, Selma CA 93662 at 10:00am Friday July 12, 2024.
