Obituary

Rose Barooshian Bedrosian passed away quietly in her sleep on April 24, 2023. She was 98 years old.

Rose was born in Havana, Cuba, the eldest of two daughters born to Garabed and Azniv Barooshian.  A life-long resident of Fresno, California, she attended Washington Colony and Washington Union High School, from where she kept many close and wonderful friendships that she cherished throughout her life. One standout, Peter Bedrosian, who also happened to be the boy next door, would later capture her heart. Their families enjoyed a closeness that it seemed destined to be.

Everything Rose did was with complete passion and intention.  From her family to her friendships, she valued all the people in her life wholeheartedly.

Rose was very patriotic and let everyone know it. Garnering her citizenship at the age of 18 was a great source of pride for herself and her family, symbolic of the many sacrifices and journey made by her parents, fleeing Turkey after the Armenian Genocide, emigrating to Cuba, and eventually making their way to America.

There is so much one can say to describe and remember Rose by, but most notably was her love and dedication to her family and her husband, Peter, to whom she was married for over 66 years.  Equally memorable was her broken heart after his passing. She once said, "I have loved him my whole life.  From the time I first saw him to now, it has always been Peter."

Rose is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Peter; and her beloved sister, Louise Najarian.

She is survived by her two sons; Harry C. Bedrosian and his wife, Maureen; Peter J. Bedrosian and his wife, Delia. Grandchildren; Leslie, Jamie, Shane, Montana, Matt and Cody and their families. Great-grandchildren; Jordan, Brianna, Faith and Bryson. Also many nieces, nephews, extended family and countless friends.  Her fun-loving and exuberant zest for life will be greatly missed.
