Our Proud History
For over 61 years, Page Funeral Chapel has been serving not only Selma but the outlaying communities. Although our name changed way back then, our goal of serving and reaching out to our neighbors and friends in their time of need remains the same as our founders. Originally our Funeral Home was started by the Byrne family in 1888 and is still located at the same address over 125 years later.
We are proud to be one of the oldest Family owned and operated Funeral Establishments in California. From our earliest beginnings under the ownership of the Byrne Family, through the past 61 years under the ownership of the Page Family and now continuing under the Family ownership of Central Valley natives Michael Sonksen, Bob Bergthold and Anthony Cisneros our focus still remains on the Families that we are privileged to serve.

Here's how it all began......
In 1949 Frank and Alice Page came to Selma. They purchased the firm from the Byrne family and began operating the Byrne Funeral Parlor as Page Funeral Chapel. The Page's operated the firm until 1983 when it was turned over to there son George and his wife Ella Page.
George Page served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps and upon completing his service in the Korean War, he returned to California and began working with his parents in the funeral business and later taking over the ownership and management from Frank and Alice.
Ella Page also served in the operation of the funeral home as a friendly, caring and personal professional. She loved to minister to bereaved families and their children as only a mother and grandmother could until her passing in 1998
In 1990, Vickie Page Hudgins, the granddaughter of Frank and Alice, daughter of George and Ella, joined the family of funeral professionals as a personable and dedicated caregiver. She, not unlike her mother before her also became the face of the family firm and loved both her career and the families she served.
In 2007 the fourth generation of the Page family stepped in to continue the strong family legacy created by Frank & Alice. Kevin Hudgins, son of Vickie Hudgins and Grandson of George & Ella joined the family business to carry on the Heritage of his Mother, Grandparents and Great Grandparents before him.
Following the passing of both Vickie & George, another fourth generation family member who was raised in this business, Danielle Dutra (daughter of Vickie Hudgins) joined her brother in the Funeral home to continue the high level of professionalism and caring attention to every detail that the Page Funeral Chapel has been known for for over 61 years.
In 2015 desiring to keep Page Funeral Chapel locally owned and operated and to ensure it's success for the future generations the funeral home was placed into the care of Farewell Funeral Service. We are proud to carry on the tradition of the Page Family by providing exceptional service to the citizens of Selma and the surrounding community.
The Page Family has been serving Selma, as well as the surrounding communities for more than 60 years. We pride ourselves on continuing to be family owned and operated, thus being able to offer families the upmost care and compassion during their time of need. We encourage you to email, call or come by in person and speak with our onsite funeral professionals to help answer any question you may have.
Our Friendly, Professional and Caring staff is available 24 hours a day/seven days a week and may be reached at (559) 896-1240.
