We currently have one open role: Care Center Assistant
About the Role
This is a full time role, Monday - Friday, 8am-5pm (on-call evenings, weekends, and overtime as needed). This position is based out of our Farewell Clovis location. The Care Center Assistant is an important member of our team, supporting daily operations across multiple funeral home locations. This role provides hands-on assistance with the care of decedents, ensures our facilities and vehicles remain clean and inspection-ready, and offers general support for funeral services and administrative tasks. $19/hour with medical, dental, and vision after a 90 day probation.
Job Requirements
- Must be 18 years or older.
- Must pass a background check and drug screening.
- Valid California driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Must have reliable transportation to and from work.
- Must live local to Fresno or Clovis
- Ability to lift, push, and pull 150+ lbs and perform physical tasks.
- Previous experience in funeral service, healthcare, or related fields is not required.

Key Responsibilities
- Assist with transfers and transportation of decedents from hospitals, coroner’s offices, residences, care facilities, and airports.
- Assist in preparation for services, including dressing and casketing.
- Help maintain cleanliness and sanitation in the preparation room, equipment, and refrigeration units, and facilities
- Ensure vehicles and gurneys are properly cleaned, stocked, and ready for use.
- Assist with phone calls and miscellaneous errands such as trips to the health department and the post office.
- Assist funeral directors with services, visitations, and transporting flowers or other service items.
